TWO STAGE PATENTED PROCESS

STAGE 1: METAL SEPARATION
Removes metals and acidity from contaminated water.

STAGE 2: SULPHIDE REDUCTION
Involves the bacterial treatment of the water to remove the remaining sulphates and calcium contaminants.

EXISTING TREATMENT METHOD: LIME DOSING
 

  • From SA Govt. Project Director Report- 2016:
    “While the concentration of contaminants in the water are managed by interception and treatment, this is not a permanent solution. Treatment would be required for 700-1000 years.”

  • Since 2007 an expert Technical Advisory Group has overseen extensive testing to develop a remediation strategy.  Their conclusion is to “cap” the AMD source.

Global Aquatica test results from our R&D plant located at Brukunga, a Government owned mine site in SA. After application of BioAqua, independent NATA accredited confirmed the treated water test results tabled above.
